Inside Stone: look beyond appearance...

Note:  This article began as a riddle and should make people curious about our new project  "INSIDE THE STONE".
After the first publication, two updates have been published, which can be read at the end of this article. (Initially, you could only see the first picture of each material)

“I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off
the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams
glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate.

Why would we print this wonderful quotation with such impressive images from the legendary android Roy Batty in the movie Blade Runner?

Perhaps because it talks about unexplored worlds, that can only be discovered by those who dare to look “beyond”.  This “look beyond appearance” is exactly what inspired us...

Inside Stone... why?

Just for fun and maybe out of curiosity, we started searching for new worlds full of unexpected colours and shapes a few months ago, only to discover fantasies that have nothing to envy to a modern art work. Surprisingly, we did not only find abstract shapes and colours, but also a lot of images that could be easily recognized. You don’t believe it, do you?  Well, let’s take a look...

  • pesce tropicale
  • pesce tropicale big
  • Faceoff granito Cofee Brown

What does it look like? Do you see the brightly coloured fish, perhaps it is living in tropical waters? This wonderful almost fluorescent coloured sea reminds us of a psychedelic dream, where the fish seems to float quietly.

  • cane
  • cane
  • Faceoff granito Nero Zimbabwe

And what do you see on this picture? For us, this could be a dog looking to the left, as if it were pointing at something...

  • Sciatore - MeetUP 2017 Marmi Rossi
  • sciatore
  • Faceoff granito bianco antico

Here we are amid the mountains, where a skier (the figure in black!) is skiing down the slope covered with coloured snow!

But what’s about the iridescent figures? What do these images represent? Where do they come from?

This could be a delusion of some modern artist or a hotchpotch of colours, as often used by psychologists during their therapeutic sessions, some strange paintings which everyone can interpret as he wants! Where we recognize dogs, fishes and birds, others may see horses and snakes...

Obviously, we could never have imagined to find these figures, such curious shapes and this beauty in... oh no! We are not allowed to reveal anything yet!

But what do these curious and apparently senseless images have in common? What has this to do with marble and granite?  Of course, there is a good explanation!

Are you curious and want to know more? Then follow us in the coming days, because you’ll find new details in this article that will enable you to discover new worlds...

UPDATE 8th SEPTEMBER 2017

Well, we’ll just give you a little hint: near each picture you can find the original version, of course in high resolution… do you recognise the left figure that is on the right on the original picture? Now, it shouldn’t be too difficult to figure it out…and the other two? Have you been able to identify them?
Can you now imagine? ;-)

UPDATE 13th SEPTEMBER 2017

After the three full-screen pictures were added, one can recognise the materials: Bianco Antico, Nero Zimbabwe and Coffee Brown.
Look at the transformation of the materials from their ‘normal’ version into their ‘natural’ composition.
The pictures in this article show you the microscopically magnified inside of some materials from our warehouse. Is it not amazing that upon close examination, an apparently black and uniform granite displays a wide colour range?
How did we hit on that?
Try to imagine...
Take a piece of natural stone, slice it thinly, slice it even thinner and then again thinner... until your piece of stone is reduced to a diameter of 0,03 millimetre.
Now you place the few millimetres thin piece of stone under the scanning electronic microscope,  enlarge the image, enlarge it even more and still more… is the picture too dark?
Then switch on the light, no, not your bedside lamp, but a polarised light, that vibrates in one direction and that is as well-filtered as sunglasses!
Well then... ?
All that remains is to take a photo...and voilà! That’s it!
You’ll have a new vision, a new world all to discover!
...
Actually, it’s pretty simple, isn’t it? Well, the entire procedure is more complicated in reality and not as simple as we told you. If you are interested in more details about the origin of the photos… then read here the new article with experts’ statements that we will publish here next week.
